Jump jockey Dougie Costello had a weekend to remember as he rode a string of winners and his wife, Aimee, gave birth to their daughter, Aoife.
The Bletchingdon-based rider’s unforgettable few days started with victory on Getabuzz in Sedgefield’s Betfred Novices’ Handicap Hurdle Race Final, on Friday.
The following day he won the European Breeders’ Fund Stallions & Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association Mares ‘National Hunt’ Novices’ Hurdle Finale at Newbury. and later revealed wife, Aimee, was about to give birth.
It got even better for Costello as Aimee gave birth to Aoife on Sunday.
He celebrated later by winning on Its A Sting at Market Rasen.
And his winning spree continued on Tuesday with a double at Chepstow courtesy of Fayette County and Minella Present.
