Henry Purdy was among the try scorers as England finished their Under 20 Six Nations campaign with a 52-5 victory over Italy at the Stadio Peroni.

The Leicester player, from Milton-under-Wychwood, came off the bench to dive over in the second half.

England had to settle for second place in the tournament behind Grand Slam winners France.

Purdy tweeted: “Loved this weekend in Italy. Not a Six Nations win, but nevertheless a strong tournament from us. Cheers boys”.

England will now seek to defend their Junior World Championship title when the tournament takes place in New Zealand in June.

OXFORD University will take on Croatia in their second international clash of the season.

The Dark Blues will host the world’s 56th-ranked nation at Iffley Road on Saturday, April 5 (2).

Oxford were narrowly beaten 31-24 when they faced Russia in November and will now look to help in Croatia’s rugby development.

This will be the final match of a season that saw the students win a fourth straight Varsity title.
