IT was honours even in the annual Town v Gown clash.
Oxford University won the main men’s clash 7-3, the men’s second-team match ended 5-5 and the City ladies ran out decisive 9-1 winners.
Kristofer Hammarback, Paul Erdunast and Adam Stanway dominated the men’s first-team match, leading the students to victory.
The men’s second-team clash was a protracted affair.
Pichtipong Juiwong and Huw Morgan took two singles wins each, but it needed a fifth-game effort in the deciding rubber from Pichtipong and Jamie Felton to secure a draw for City.
Shunko Cook, Christine Scaysbrook, Louise Felton, Nikki Francis and Sharon Curtis were in fine form to lead the city’s women to success in their clash.
