FIONA Bunn, Nick Wiltshire and Josie Harrison secured doubles for local clubs during an action packed day of cross country racing at Harwell.

Bunn and Wiltshire, who represent Abingdon, plus White Horse Harriers’ Harrison won their respective age groups in the Oxford Mail League and the Oxfordshire Championships.

Bunn powered home in the combined under 15/17 girls’ race, clocking 13mins 33secs.

Harrison secured the under 17 girls’ title after finishing fourth in the combined league race with 14.08 and was county champion by half a minute.

Wiltshire (7.04) won the under 13 boys’ race, which saw him finish joint first with Sammy Hart (Team Kennet).

But he was an outright champion in the Oxon event.

Radley’s Johnny James claimed the inaugural under 9 boys and girls title, while Abingdon’s Kie Francis won the under 11 boys’ category.

Oxford City’s Alex Scrivener (under 11 girls) and Bicester’s Sophie Wheeler (under 13 girls) were the other Oxon club runners to claim titles.

Henley’s Nancie Bowley was the under 13 girls’ county champion, while Will Crisp, from Faringdon, cruised to the under 15 boys’ title.

Christian Von Eitzen, from Abingdon, won the county under 17 crown and enjoyed a great battle with league winner Nathan Gillis (Team Kennet).
