CRITCHLEYS UTV LEAGUE - DIVISIONS 2 & 3

TWO goals from Josh Haynes led Abingdon Exiles’ to a 5-1 destruction of Standlake Garage in Division 2, writes DARYL RIDGLEY.

A Rich Walker opener was answered by a superb strike from Garage’s Ollie Page.

But Garage’s manager Pete Saxel’s joy was short-lived when an equally impressive effort from Exiles’ Graham Bettles saw Standlake 2-1 behind at the interval.

The second half was tight, but two efforts from Haynes and a goal from Ian Bishop eventually saw the Exiles comfortably home.

Green Tree overcame Village Inn 5-0 with goals from Jack Eccles (2), Dan Sutherland, Craig Kirkman and Sam Elkins.

In the other game in the division, Woodstock Wanderers overcame White Horse Abingdon 2-1 with goals from Matthew Taylor and John Webb. Ashley Jones got a consolation.

There was a rarity when North Oxford Conservative Club and Forest Hill met – the pair producing one of the few goalless draws this season.

In Division 3, Milton Midgets went down 4-0 to Abba Athletic, with efforts from James Beale (2), Ricky Faloub and Wayne Harworth.

Iffley Harriers and Sporting Headington drew 2-2 in Hedley Toms Group B. Iffley netted through Chris Morgan and Daniel Donnell, with Tim Wright and Dave Hunter replying.

Blacks Head Bletchingdon went down 4-2 against a talented Freeland Yeoman outfit.

Goals for Blacks Head came from Matt Pearse and Gareth Williams.

But the day belonged to Freeland who netted through James Turner, Tom Gerken, Aston Leach and Ethan Simlett.

In the other game in the same group, Tom Scorley and Richard Morgan struck to ensure AFC Valley held Cowley Marsh Eagles to a 2-2 draw.
