An impressive weight of 73.8.0 made up of small carp gave Mark Shepherd victory in the Littlemore AS Classic Flooring Shield at Panshill Wood, while others all around struggled for bites.

Brian Hutchings was on the next peg down and fished in the middle to the areators with maggot, catching 17 carp on maggot for 36.2.0.

Don Spearpoint used the same tactics and had four carp for a third-placed 9.14.0. The 23 anglers produced a total weight of 153.8.0.

Littlemore’s fixture scheduled for Sunday, March 2 has been changed to Brickhill Farm Fishery. Draw 8.00am. Fish 9.15am-2.15pm Kidlington AS fished their Bustin Challenge Cup on the Oxford Canal at Grovelands where under 2lb was enough to clinch the silverware.

Just behind was Terry Lester with 1.7.8, which included a 1lb perch and a few smaller ones on pole with chopped worm.
