ABINGDON Vale youngsters enjoyed another record-breaking time with four gold medals in the second round of the Oxfordshire & North Bucks Championship, held at Aquavale, Aylesbury.

In the distance and girls’ relay events, Vale scooped four golds, four silvers and two bronze, setting one county and six club records in the process.

This followed Vale’s success the previous weekend when their boys’ relay teams smashed two club records.

It was the turn of the girls this time as their 11-12 relay teams won both the medley and freestyle age group titles.

One member of that team, Emily Ford, also won gold in the 11 years’ 400m individual medley.

Vale’s other gold came from David Murphy, who won junior 400m individual medley title.

Niall O’Leary was third in the men’s open 400m freestyle, while Harry James came third in the men’s open 400m individual medley.
