Thirteen intrepid anglers contested North Oxford AS’s club match in horrendous weather on the Oxford Canal at Wolvercote, but at least the perch were willing to feed.

Andrew Crisp used a whip and caught 5.6.0 of them on chopped worm to take the honours.

Steve Wildman also caught perch on chopped worm for 2.10.0 and second, followed by Dave Britnell, with 2.3.0 of skimmers and roach on bread.

Tackley Estates AC fished Lodge Farm at Fritwell where Stephen Malone topped the eight-strong field with 21.8.0 of carp on pole and maggot.

He also won the golden peg.

Mick Merry was runner-up with 14.10.0 of carp on pole and maggot, while Anthony Alder had 13.8.0 of carp on the same tactics.

Marston AC FTB had to cancel their Northway Cup match on the flooded Cherwell and have rearranged it for tomorrow.

North Oxford AS have allowed any Marston AC member to fish their match on the Oxford Canal, should the Cherwell again be unfishable.
