Alan Oliver hit the highest away break of the season as Premier side Vikings came from behind to win 3-2 at Berinsfield Club in the Johnson Buildbase Oxford League, writes PETE EWINS.
The teams were tied at 2-2 as Oliver took on Geoff Mace in the decider.
But the Vikings man held his nerve with a break of 9,700 in the week’s top score of 11,790 to defeat the Section 1 leaders.
Allan Lacey (4,910) gave the visitors the lead, only to see Craig Mace (8,850) and Tony Broadway (7,880) put Berinsfield ahead.
Ian Moss levelled, before Oliver made sure of victory.
Leaders Kennington Club triumphed 3-2 at home to Marlborough Club, with wins from Pauline Withey (5,590), Mark Trafford (7,280) and Brian Rose (5,390).
Callum Bowler and Danielle Chewings were victorious for the visitors.
Didcot Conservative Club came away with a 3-2 success at West Oxford Democrats Club, thanks to Dennis Atkins (6,700), Stuart Florey (6,500) and Dave Tooke (5,460).
Terry Green (4,210) and Billy Hill, who scored double figures with 10,700, replied.
Gladiators Club B are half a point clear at the top of Section 2 after a 4-1 success at Headington Conservative Club.
