OXFORD City’s Simi Fajemisin leapt to gold in the South of England Championships at Lee Valley Stadium.

Fajesmisin took the under 17 girls’ long jump title with a 5.85m at the indoor meeting.

Last summer, she won the English Schools title outdoors with a jump of 5.91, so already looks a good bet to break the six-metre barrier in 2014.

City’s Jade O’Dowda was in the medals for a second week running after winning two bronzes.

O’Dowda claimed under 15 girls’ pentathlon gold on the first weekend and returned there for more success.

The 14-year-old clocked 9.35secs to finish third in the 60m hurdles and set another personal best of 1.58m for the same result in the high jump.

Clubmate Ella Turner was edged into fourth in the under 15 girls’ 800m, despite clocking a personal best of 2mins 25.73secs.
