OXFORD City gave Skrill North leaders North Ferriby United a fright before going down to a 3-2 defeat they did not deserve at Marsh Lane last night.

Two Jamie Cook penalties brought City level at 2-2, but a cruel deflection gave the visitors the winner which dropped Mike Ford’s men into the relegation places.

North Ferriby went ahead on six minutes when Anthony Wilson’s header beat keeper Matt Scott.

Ryan Kendall doubled the lead on 17 minutes and although City went close when Darren Pond’s effort was cleared off the line, they went in 2-0 down at the break.

City more than matched the visitors in the second half, pulling one back when Mark Bell was brought down and Cook obliged from the spot.

He did the same two minutes later after Lee Henderson was tripped, but Wilson’s deflected goal decided it.
