CUMNOR Minors Under 13s’ efforts to get their A League game on were rewarded as they went top with a 6-3 win over Harwell & Hendred.

Just three matches were due to take place, and Cumnor’s game was given only a 20 per cent chance on Saturday afternoon of going ahead.

But a lot of forking, brushing and sand scattering – plus a welcome overnight freeze – meant that the match could take place on Sunday.

Harwell raced into a two-goal lead, but Cumnor stormed back with goals from Adam Megarity (2), Nathan Collins, Rory Hobbs, Luke Trice and Joseph Drinkwater.
