Kayden Jackson admitted he will be haunted by the miss which could have changed the game for Oxford City as they were beaten 2-0 at Stockport County in Skrill North on Saturday, writes Matthew Bruce.

Jackson squandered the chance to draw City level at the start of the second half after doing excellently to get through on goal, and the striker expected to see the net ripple.

“I think I was surprised how easily I rounded the keeper and the defender,” said Jackson.

“From a tight angle on my left foot I thought I did enough to cut the ball in, but just obviously I don’t know what it was, there’s no excuse really.

“I’m going to be thinking about that miss until the next game.

“Thankfully, I don’t have to wait too long until that comes.

“Hopefully I can get a goal and get it out of my head because I don’t really want to be thinking about it for too long.”

The 19-year-old’s loan from Swindon Town has just been extended and Jackson said he has enjoyed it in Skrill North so far.

He added: “It’s been good, especially during the first month when I scored a few goals playing up front.

“Now I’m playing in a different role out wide but I’m happy to do a job for the team.

“Maybe I should have had a couple more than I have had, but I’ll just keep working and hopefully I’ll get the goals.”
