IAN Moss came within one dart of facing defending champion Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor in the PDC World Championships at Alexandra Palace last night.
The 50-year-old qualifier, from Witney (pictured), had a shot at double top to beat New Zealander Rob Szabo 4-2 in their best-of-seven-legs preliminary round match.
But Moss was off target and Szabo went on to win 4-3.
Moss had earlier landed a 118 checkout to level at 2-2.
Szabo went on to lose 3-1 in sets to Taylor in the first round.
