MEMBERS from the Oxford School of Gymnastics are enjoying a golden autumn of success as they celebrate the club’s tenth anniversary.

Having won seven gold, two silver and a bronze medals at the South of East Championships, their gymnasts produced even more impressive results at the Pat Wade Classic, an international tournament boasting competitors from a number of countries including Russia, USA, Australia and France.

On two intense days of competition, which were attended by some of the best gymnasts in the world, the girls from Oxford achieved an unprecedented one-two-three.

Teammates Freya Clemson, Emily Allen and Grace Johnson found themselves in one of the toughest categories and secured a hugely-impressive fifth place.

Considering the standard of competitors they faced, it was a sensational achievement.

The club’s joint head coach, Carrie Day, said: “Maximum effort and skill was required to achieve qualification for the finals.
