Ardley United extended their lead in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division to four points after a hard-fought 3-2 win against Shrivenham on Saturday.

Goals from Troy Bryan, Steve Howkins and a Callum Convey penalty sealed victory for Kevin Brock’s men.

Ardley took the lead on five minutes when Bryan headed Convey’s free-kick past Louis Latouche in the Shrivenham goal.

Ardley doubled their advantage ten minutes later when Howkins headed in a Stuart Bridges cross.

On 50 minutes, Shrivenham cut the deficit when substitute Steve Robertson fired in, only for Convey to restore Ardley’s cushion from the penalty spot after Bryan was fouled.

Although the visitors sco-red a second through Matty Bown from the spot, Ardley eased home.

On Saturday, Ardley host Oxford City Nomads.
