SWIMMING: City's young teams finish on a high
10:00am Saturday 21st September 2013 in Sport
City of Oxford’s A team ended their Milton Keynes & District Junior League season on a high with victory in the round three gala at the Windrush Leisure Centre, Witney.
The City swimmers, aged from nine to 12, were in top form, amassing 185 points – 35 more than runners-up Bicester.
Having finished second and third in previous rounds, Oxford A finished sixth overall of the 15 teams in Division 1. City of Oxford B finished second in their gala at Dunstable to finish seventh overall in Division 2 – a notable achievement as the club did not enter a team last year.
Meanwhile, seven City swimmers have been selected to represent Oxfordshire & North Bucks in the National County Championship at Sheffield next month.
They are Maia Little, Eleanor McNally, Ellie Millington, Emily Nisbet, Daniel Munis-Lindoso, Lucy Smith and Ewan Springett.
