MOTOCROSS: Seb's out to shine
10:00am Friday 20th September 2013 in Sport
Didcot’s Seb Osborne goes into the final round of the Red Bull Pro Nationals at his home track of Culham Park this weekend, hoping to build on his reputation as the ironman of the series.
The 22-year-old is one of the main movers in the competitive classes for riders of two-stroke-engined machines.
The two-stroke class is split into two capacity categories – 125cc and 250cc – and Osborne is the only racer contesting both, meaning he has three races tomorrow and three more on the Sunday.
Despite missing the opening two events in the seven-round series, he sits two points off third in the 125cc class and 37 points adrift in the 250cc class. While the 125cc title is out of reach, he is in with a genuine chance of taking the 250cc championship and being crowned British champion.
“Culham Park is only five minutes away from my home,” he said.
“I’ve ridden there a lot so hopefully that – plus lots of home support – will give me the advantage I need.” Admission is £13 for adults, £3 for children and £30 for a family of four. Gates open at 8.30am.
