BOWLS: Ellie is history-maker as she lands top cup

Ellie White, 11, has become the youngest Bicester Bowls Club player ever to win the prestigious Danny Danvers Cup at the recent club finals.
White, who joined the club at eight-years old, won two previous heats of this pairs competition to reach her first final.
The club have enjoyed a great deal of success over the years.
Her brother Tom, 16, who has played for Bicester for five years, won the novice singles (Hawkins Cup) in 2012.
Daniel Swanson, 15, who has been a member of Bicester for two years won the David Allin Cup in the Oxfordshire under 25 Pairs in July.
Brandon King, 12, has played for Bicester for three years and his younger brother Lucas, ten, joined as a junior player this year.
Their grandfathers are both long term playing members.
Tom, Daniel, Brandon and Lucas have all represented Oxfordshire in the under 25s and Ellie is detined to follow in their footsteps.

Meanwhile, Bicester’s Presidents lifted the Slay-maker Cup after winning the annual President’s v Captains clash. The cup was donated to Bicester by Ollie Slaymaker the president in 1982 .
The match raised £171 for the president’s chosen charity.
