ATHLETICS: Johnson and Ennis are Oxfordshire’s lone finalists

ASHLEY Johnson and Kyle Ennis were the only finalists as Oxfordshire sent a small team to the Inter-Counties Track & Field Championships at Bedford.
Johnson (Radley) and Ennis (Banbury Harriers) reached finals in the 110m hurdles and 200m respectively, but both finished eighth.
Radley’s Johnson came third in his heat after clocking 14.77secs, but could only produce 15.36 in the final.
Ennis reached the 200m final as a fastest loser after recording 21.42 in his heat, then clocked 21.56.
Radley’s David Gain was knocked out in the heats when he finished third in 21.65.
Former Abingdon athlete Jonny Lodowski (Enfield & Haringey/Army) came third in his 400m hurdles heat with a season’s best time of 53.55 Isaiah Adekanmbi (Oxford University) finished fifth in his 100m heat, recording 10.91.
OXFORD’S Carolyn Plateau finished third in the 800m at the Internationaal Antwerps Atletiek Gala in Belgium.
The 25-year-old Radley athlete clocked 2mins 4.94secs to come behind London 2012 Olympian Morgan Uceny (USA) in second and Canada’s World Championship athlete Karine Belleau-Beliveau.
