MOTORSPORT: Fergus boosted by Scottish trip
8:00am Tuesday 27th August 2013 in Sport
FERGUS Walkinshaw bounced back from a slow start to deliver one of his best performances of the Michelin Ginetta GT Supercup season at Knockhill.
The 22-year-old was forced to make an unscheduled pit stop after runnning wide in race one, dropping him down to 15th place.
But Walkinshaw, who lives in Chipping Norton, responded in the other two races to drive off with a sixth and a seventh place, earning 40 points.
He said: “The FW Motorsport crew have once again done a fantastic job; we knew the car was strong, while I love racing at Knockhill.
“These results give the team the boost we all so badly needed after such a run of misfortune.
“It’s onwards and upwards from here and we’ll be aiming to continue our top-six form into the next rounds at Rockingham.”
