MARK Grootz birdied ten holes on the way to breaking his own course record at Hadden Hill.
The 40-year-old, who plays off a handicap of plus-two, carded an eight-under-par round of 63 on the way to victory in the club’s monthly stableford competition.
It beat his previous record, set five years ago, by one shot.
- HADDEN Hill professional Simon McGreal will tee up at the Glenmuir PGA Professional Championship next week after coming through qualifying.
He carded a two-over-par round of 72 at Hindhead, in Surrey, to finish in a tie for 11th place to claim one of the 21 places up for grabs.
It puts McGreal into the field for the 72-hole national tournament at Slaley Hall in Northumberland.
The £78,000 event starts next Tuesday.
- DRAYTON Park’s Nick Elmey won the BB&O under 14 championship, played at Hadden Hill.
