Harbour Court is bound for Cheltenham after sealing a treble for Aston Rowant trainer Alan Hill with an impressive win at the Kingston Blount Racing Club meeting at Kingston Blount, near Chinnor.

Description and Start Royal landed the ladies’ and men’s opens in good style for Hill in the hands of Gina Andrews and James Tudor.

But it was Harbour Court’s sparkling ten-lengths success under Tudor in the intermediate, which earned him a place in the Connolly’s Red Mills-sponsored final at Prestbury Park on May 1, that most excited his handler.

“It’s been a great day and a very big mission achieved,” said Hill. “We have qualified for Cheltenham and the owner (Andrew West) has just told me he is going to be in America that day.

“I think we have a nice horse for the future.”

Start Royal, who sauntered home by 20 lengths from his two remaining rivals in the men’s open after Cedrus Libani refused to start, could also be Cheltenhan-bound on May 1 with the Bonhams Championship Final his potential target.

Description, meanwhile, is to be aimed at the AGA Championship Final at Stratford on June 7 after the 11-year-old came home three lengths clear of Shammy Buskins in the ladies’ open, with Lady Myfanwy, the winner for the last two years, a neck back in third.

Thomas Kindleyside, who works at Hill’s yard, came within a whisker of a winner on his first ride when Alpha Native just failed to collar Crazy Eyes and Ben Bentley in the club members’ conditions race.

Charlie Deutsch, who lives at Chipping Norton and works for National Hunt trainer Charlie Longsdon, posted his second winner between the flags when Charles Bruce took the second division of the open maiden for six-year-olds and over.

Having ridden his first winner between the flags on Victory Parade at Didmarton a week earlier, Deutsch, 16, went clear on the ten-year-old, trained by Andrew Campbell at Condicote, near Stow-on-the-Wold, for a 15-length win.

Horatio Caine took the restricted for trainer Marcus Foley, who hails from Lew, near Witney, and now operates at Rockley, near Marlborough, in an amazing finish.

Broadwalk Empire refused at the last, leaving the leg-weary Bit Of A Clown in the lead, but he was passed by four horses on the run-in with Cordelia Chugg’s mount prevailing from Kings Queen.
