Jonny Reid scored a double for Bicester men against Eastcote 3rd
Jonny Reid and Harry Gaunt scored doubles as Bicester men hammered MBBO Division 1 basement boys Eastcote 3rd 5-2 on Saturday.
However, the hosts got off to the worst possible start when Eastcote took the lead following a short corner routine.
Bicester responded well and were soon level. Jon Rodger and Reid combined before the latter poked the ball to Luke Smith who finished well into the bottom corner.
However, Eastcote didn’t give up and regained the lead following another short corner.
Bicester recovered their composure and levelled again. Good combination work involving Rodger, Stu Moore and CJ Birtles, saw Reid round the goalkeeper, he struck firmly into the goal.
After the break, Bicester turned up the heat and went ahead. Birtles fired home from Adam Buxey’s pass after the visitors’ keeper had kept out a short corner.
Bicester then increased their lead to 4-2. Gaunt was set up by Reid and he fired into the corner.
Gaunt completed the turnaround with his second strike smashing the ball in after some skilful stick work from man-of-the -match Rodger.
Bicester ladies 3rd crashed to an 8-1 home loss to Wokingham 4th in Trysports Three Counties League Division 5.
Jan Southam was the scorer for Bicester.
