YOUTH FOOTBALL: Zilvetti bags treble
11:00am Thursday 28th February 2013 in Sport
Miguel Zilvetti hit a hat-trick as Launton Boys made it six victories in a row with an 8-2 success at Bloxham in the Giles Sports Under 14 Witney Youth A League.
Three goals in a five-minute spell before half-time was the key to Launton’s victory.
The visitors went ahead when Kai Collins was brought down and Zilvetti smashed home Launton’s first penalty of the season.
Fin Starrett doubled their lead from a tight angle before Kai Collins bundled in the rebound for 3-0 after Zarius Edwards-Girauds shot was parried by the keeper.
Zilvetti then scored his second from the edge of the box before sealing his treble 25 seconds into the second half when a clearance fell to him 35 yards out and he hit a ferocious shot into the top corner.
Ben Baldwin lobbed the advancing keeper from a Jordan Eldridge pass for 5-0.
Baldwin then set up Simon Lee who slotted home, before Bloxham clawed one back.
Lee wrapped up his double from Josh Wilkins’s cross.
Bloxham cut the deficit further, but it was all over.
Goals from Tyvon Stewart and Tim Wraight were in vain as Bicester Town Colts Stars lost 3-2 at home to Garden City in the Under 12 B League. Jonah Clarke (2) and Josh Tuffrey-King were the Garden City marksmen.
Kristian Smith scored a hat-trick for Launton Boys as they beat Bicester Town Colts 8-0 in the Under 9 Blue League.
Luke Thompson (2), Alex Birtles, Olly Fulton and Ben Knight got their other goals.
