Aston Rowant jockey Joe Hill rode a winner on his first ride under National Hunt Rules with victory on Ravethebrave at Fakenham yesterday.
Hill, 17, was able to coast home on the nine-year-old, owned and trained by his father, Alan, in the CGA Foxhunter Trial Hunters’ Chase after Flaming Gorge fell at the last fence when three lengths down.
It left Hill’s mount, the 9-4 favourite, to pass the post 32 lengths ahead of Or Bleu.
West Ilsley trainer Mick Channon also struck at the Norfolk venue when Ballypatrick landed the three-mile beginners’ chase under Conor O’Farrell.
