Chipping Norton racer Alice Powell says she is fully geared for the MRF Series title race, when the final rounds take place this weekend at the Madras Circuit in Chennai, India.

Powell, pictured sucking in the atmosphere, stands third in the standings, 32 points behindchampionship leader Jordan King, and 27 behind second-placed Conor Daly, the son of ex-Formula 1 and Indy Car driver, Derek Daly.

However, reigning Formula 2 champion, Luciano Bacheta, is only one point behind her in fourth.

The final two races will be held at the newly-renovated Madras circuit, which is expected to attract large crowds. Powell, who is sponsored by Renault, says she is looking forward to the challenge of the title battle.

“I cannot wait,” she said.

“I am really looking forward to getting back on track.

“It will be a tough fight, but I have kept up my winter training at Lotus F1 and I just need to focus on doing the best job possible.”
