FOOTBALL: Ardley deadly duo hit trebles in rout

Troy Bryan and Joe Eyre hit a hat-trick apiece as Ardley United went second in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division with a 7-0 thrashing of Witney Town at Oxford Road on Saturday.

Bryan opened Ardley’s account on nine minutes. With his back to the goal, he pivoted before volleying past a stunned Witney keeper Adam Bradley.

Minutes later, Eyre doubled their lead with a cool finish.

Eyre made it a double when he latched on to a Nick Thorne cross before firing home.

Two minutes later, Bryan made it 4-0 after Bradley failed to gather his initial shot.

Eyre wrapped up his treble before the break, breaking forward and lashing the ball past Bradley.

Early in the second half, Ardley went 6-0 up. Thorne was fouled and Bryan fired in the resulting kick to complete his treble. Ollie Stanbridge lobbed Bradley for No 7 to complete the rout.

On Saturday, Ardley travel to Binfield.
