Bicester men moved up to second in MBB&O Division 1 as their ten-man side battled back for a 1-1 draw at British Airways, who similarly had a player sent off.

The visitors defence had to withstand a strong opening from the hosts before they started to put on some pressure of their own, with a number of short corners.

Bicester thought they had gone ahead when Jon Rodger fired home, only for the effort to be disallowed for a foot in the D.

British Airways then struck a post before they took the lead from a well-worked short corner routine.

Bicester didn’t let their heads dropped and it was no surprise when they equalised.

Jonny Reid on the top of the D, who controlled the ball before rifling a shot low into the corner after good work from Rodger as the sides went into the break level.

The second half proved to be a non-event until a few minutes from time when both sides were reduced to ten men, Bicester’s Reid dismissed for a poor stick tackle.
