Player-manager Max Burton hit a hat-trick as Sporting Headington Academicals ran out 5-4 winners over Freeland Yeoman in one of only two Critchleys Upper Thames Valley League games to beat the bad weather.
The Division 2 clash was played at Oxford Brookes Westminster Institute of Education, and Burton also had a penalty saved by Jamie Flood.
James Titler and Stuart Hunter were Academicals other scorers, with Ethan Simlett (2), Ben Sadler, Simon Calley replying.
The other game to survive was also in Division 2, with AFC Valley winning 4-0 at Forest Hill.
Stuart Coppock’s double, a Mickey Crosier own goal and Andy Cummings’s 30-yard strike did the damage.
