OXFORDSHIRE’S girls secured a creditable fourth place in the Under 11 Fun in Athletics South East Regional Sportshall Final.
Two victories helped Oxon to 380 points – just five off third place – at the Triangle Leisure Centre, Burgess Hill.
Bicester pair Amy Gould and Millie Couzens teamed up with Maddison Cooper (Banbury) to secure maximum points and win the balance test.
Holly Griffiths-Brown (Bicester) and Olivia Westbrook (Witney) secured victory in the six-lap paarlauf race, and third place in the 2+2 lap relay.
Oxfordshire boys’ team finished seventh on 325 points.

GIRLS
Vertical jump: 3 M Cooper, M Couzens, H Allen (Oxford City). 1+1 lap relay: 2 L Garside (Bicester) & A Leondiou (Banbury). Soft javelin: 3 O Westbrook & A Hudson (Witney). Speed bounce: 3 F Gordon-James (Radley), R Fernandez (Abingdon), J Krumins (Witney). Obstacle relay: 3 A Gould, F Gordon-James, J Krumins, A Hudson.
BOYS
Standing triple jump: 2 T Couzens (Bicester). Soft javelin: 2 J Edwards-Giraud (Bicester) & W Andrews (Banbury). Balance test: 4 JJ Welham (Bicester), G Winkler (Banbury), W Andrews. 1+1 lap relay: 3 J Liddicot (Bicester) & J Judson (Oxford City). 2+2 lap relay: 3 T Couzens & W Sims (Bicester).
- ANABEL Pozniak led the way as three Radley juniors showed some early season form in the under 13-15 open meeting at Lee Valley Athletics Centre.
Pozniak won her under 13 girls’ 800m heat in 2mins 29.46secs, which placed her second of the 12 athletes competing.
She added a third place in the shot put with 4.95m and leapt 3.40 for fifth in the long jump.
Ciara Watkins bagged personal bests in the under 15 girls’ long jump (4.01) and 60m (9.01) and was just outside a treble with 31.54 in the 200m.
Brett Halsey (under 13 boys) recorded 9.40 in the 60m and 32.83 in the 200m on his indoor debut.
He was just 1cm outside his outdoor personal best in the long jump with a leap of 3.73.
