RACING: O'Neill ends barren run

Stratton Audley trainer John O’Neill posted his first winner for more than two years when Cabaret Girl sprang a 22-1 surprise at Huntingdon.

The six-year-old mare fulfilled the promise of her debut third at Warwick by romping home by 11 lengths from Sausalito Sunrise under Andrew Thornton in a National Hunt Flat Race over an extended two miles.

It was O’Neill’s first winner since Irish Guard scored at Towcester, Northamptonshire in December 2010.
