ANGLING: Huge catch is Lechlade high
11:00am Saturday 12th January 2013 in Sport
A brown of 21lb 2oz was the highlight of last month at Lechlade Trout Fishery.
It was caught by Steve Fisher, of Swindon, who has been a Lechlade regular for 38 years.
In total, 403 anglers caught 1,139 fish, with an average weight of 12lb.
Two other browns of more than 20lb were recorded, while Phil Geme had a rainbow of 20.12.0.
On Bushyleaze, 229 rods caught 811 fish, 90 of which weighed more than 6lb.
THE charity pike match organised by the Oxfordshire branch of the GB Pike Anglers Club and Linear Fisheries at St John’s Pit, Stanton Harcourt, on February 3, has been cancelled.
Linear has been closed for a number of weeks due to flooding and is not likely to re-open for a while. They hope to be able to use a couple of their lakes in the next fortnight.
