ALFIE Potter is focused on reaching double figures for goals this season after equalling his best tally for a campaign last weekend.
The winger claimed a rare header in the 3-0 win at AFC Wimbledon, making it six goals from 30 appearances so far.
It is a welcome return for Potter, who netted just four times in 69 games across the last two seasons.
It brought the 24-year-old level with the haul in his debut season with the U’s, when his half dozen helped win promotion from the Blue Square Premier.
Potter’s goal at Kingsmeadow was his first for more than two months and he is keen to get on the scoresheet again as quickly as possible.
He said: “I need to keep this going. It’s three times as many as I scored in the whole of last season, so it’s all looking good.
“Hopefully I can get to double figures soon.
“I’ve been making a few of late, so if I can add the goals again it all bodes well.
“We need to keep this going.
“We have the two cup games now and if we can progress in them and keep the results in the league going, then it could be a good second half of the season for us.”
