Fit-again Daza Usher wants the toughest opponent possible when he returns to the ring next month.

Niggling injuries have kept the Bicester welterweight out of action since June when he got the better of journeyman Billy Smith in Gloucester.

But with those knocks now behind him, the 29-year-old is looking for a dangerous opponent in his next fight at Gloucester’s GL1 Leisure Centre on November 23.

“I’ve had a few knocks, but I’m back at full fitness now and 100 per cent ready to go,” said Usher.

“I had trouble with my leg and hand which meant I couldn’t run, do sparring or bag work.

“Those problems are over now and I’ve been training well for a good few weeks.

“I’ve got to sit down with my manager and sort out an opponent, but I want a step up now.

“I’ve had fights against so-called journeymen so far and now I want an opponent who comes here to fight me and win.”

Usher is focused on his next fight, but admitted he has his eyes on bigger prizes further down the line.

“I’m in this game to win some titles, but for now I just have to keep winning,” he added. “I keep improving with each fight, but I know I can’t run before I can walk.

“I’m learning new things all the time and my last fight was the toughest. “Billy Smith knew all the tricks and I picked up on that and put in to practice what I’d learnt.

“I can’t wait to get back in action because I’ve been out for a while.”

Tickets cost £35 for unreserved seating and £60 for VIP ringside.
