United beat Borough 6-3!

Oxford United got their season up and running in style at the Kassam Stadium with a 6-3 demolition job on Eastbourne Borough in the Blue Square Premier.
After two games without a point, or even a goal, the floodgates opened.
James Constable and Levi Reid put the U's two up in the first seven minutes but poor defending allowed Eastbourne back to 2-2 with Patrick Harding and Allan Tait netting.
A comical own goal from Marc Pullen restored Oxford's lead, but Paul Armstrong made it 3-3 midway through the second half.
However, the U's finished strongly, with substitute Eddie Hutchinson, Constable - with his second goal - and Barry Quinn completing what in the end was a resounding win. After some awful defending.

If your man Guy had been playing i'm certain he'd have got six goals himself, no joking at all.
We have to tighten up 75% defensively -otherwise the score might be reversed at Wrexham. Glad for the three points yesterday, hopefully Guy will be back on thursday, our defence remembers how to defend- and the Setanta jinx ends!!

What a quality bloke big red is!! The sport would be ten times better if it had more people like you and less people like Emu. Every time I look on here he is winding the oxford fans up. Obviously has such a sheltered life aint got nothing else to do!! Spot on Big red!! Good luck for the season!!

You should never have gone down in the first place, the football league have made a huge mistake with automatic promotion/relegation from the Blue Square. OK the Blue Square is stronger for having the likes of Oxford, Wrexham and Cambridge in the league, but the football league is weaker as a result. Look at Boston and Scarborough, they just wern't geared up for league football and it's finished them off and Halifax were finished off because they were geared up for league football but just couldn't get back into the league. The Football league have alot to answer for. Too late to change things now though, the gates been opened and the horse has bolted.
