A WOMAN was woken by a man in a face mask during a burglary of a home in Kennington.

The 29-year-old was in bed at the property in Kennington Road just before midnight on Thursday when the man wearing a balaclava or face mask came into her bedroom.

As soon as he saw the woman he ran out of the room and was seen running off alongside another man in the direction of Oxford.

The man is described as white, slim, in his twenties, about 5ft 10ins, with mousey or brown coloured eyebrows. He was wearing a cream baseball cap which had a normal curved peak, a black zip up hoody and dark trousers.

The second man who the victim saw outside the property is about 5ft 10ins and slim. He was wearing dark clothing, including a baseball cap, and was carrying a black rucksack.

The victim did not sustain any injuries, nor was anything stolen.

Investigating officer, PC Robert Turpin of the patrol team based Abingdon police station, said: “This was an extremely frightening experience for the victim who was in her bedroom when the offender made his way into the property.
