A "once-in-a-lifetime day" was how the Olympic Torch's procession through Blackbird Leys was described today.

As it made its way down Cuddesdon Way and onto Blackbird Leys Road, crowds of residents came out of their houses, waving flags and cheering.

At the community centre and Blackbird Leys Adventure Playground, families are still enjoying face painting and barbecues.

And at the Blackbird Pub, reggae music rang out as the torchbearers ran past.

Landlord Glen Williams said: "Today is great for this estate and it is great for the people who live here.

"It is a once in a lifetime thing."

Parties are continuing on streets around the estate tonight, at the Blackbird and Bullnose Morris pubs and on the Blackbird Leys Adventure Playground.
