M40 drivers face delays

Motorists faced delays on the M40 in north Oxfordshire this evening.

A lorry, that broke down on the inside lane of the northbound M40 between junction nine at Wendlebury and junction ten at Ardley was recovered just before 4pm but queues remain. This was in the same area as an earlier accident.

Slow traffic is also reported on the A43 southbound between the B4100 and junction ten of the M40.

Traffic is also slow on the A40 Oxford Northern Bypass heading towards the Banbury Road roundabout and also from the Wolvercote Roundabout towards Eynsham.

Meanwhile, a water main has burst in Woodgreen Avenue, Banbury, affecting traffic both ways near Bretch Hill. It is also affecting Lennox Gardens both ways near Bretch Hill. This is separate from the earlier burst main reported in South Bar Street.
