Village spirit

Residents are getting together to display the work of every artist in North Aston.

The exhibition, The Spirit of North Aston, will be held in the village church from May 10 to 18.

Artists have been asked to present their work in any medium, from oil painting to sculpture.

Entry to the exhibition will be free. It will be open every day from noon until 6pm each day with a late night (until 8pm) on May 15. Kildare Borrowes, organiser of the exhibition, said: "We want to see what talent and imagination is out there, and I believe we will uncover an incredible amount of it.

"Who knows, we may even have a great artist here, and that would be really exciting."

None of the work will be for sale at the exhibition.

Mr Borrowes said: "We want people to show the world what they can do, to enjoy it, and be recognised without commercial constraint.

"If later they start earning money from their creations, that's all to the good.

"We know that at least 15 people are preparing works for this exhibition. It will be really interesting, fun, and stimulating for all involved, and for our visitors."
