Eco-town looking for workforce (From Bicester Advertiser)

election-process/ it looks like a complex set up for little worth because all it appears you can do once you've signed up is see who else has signed up and update your own profile with info about you.

This "...You details may be passed to nominated sub-contractors and consultants to ensure that all parties involved in the construction of the scheme have the ability to review the services available..." seems to suggest that once you sign up, they keep your details of what you do and when they put something out to tender to their nominated sub contractors and supplies, you will be made aware of it so you can potentially appraoch them to offer your services. Have I read that correctly? Regardless of anything I must admit the above link has lots of writing with what appears to be little content.

Not wishing to sound like a naysayer but I personally do not believe that A2Dominion will contract a lot of work to local businesses when they're likely to have their own suppliers. As for builders etc., any local builders will surely need to put in an application to secure a contract with them but their likely to price themselves out of the job in the same way a local shop is often more expensive than a supermarket.

I hope to be wrong but I am not sure I beleive that local businesses and suppliers will benefit much from a big company like A2Dominion.

Did they say to work on this super green development that you had to travel to work by bike or public transport no power tools unless they are rechargeable and sustainable electricity used if not not so green and eco friendly is it all

Snert is spot on. A2 will tender the works with Hills Partnership and Willmott Dixon, their prefered contractors. Unless their is a contract condition in their pre qualification documents that insists that local labour MUST be used, commercial forces will sustain and the cheapest will get the contracts.

Why is the Bicester Ad giving do much publicity to what is actually a non-story? The Eco town HAS to create this website as part of its planning permission - but it diesn't actually have to take anyone on as a result of it! Another part of the sham Development.
