LOGAN Fenwick clambers up high as he enjoys the surroundings of the South Oxford Adventure Playground.

This summer the playground is holding a range of events for children and families, including campfires, cooking and face painting.

Earlier this week, play workers bought in a temporary climbing wall for youngsters, and also took advantage of the hot weather by holding a water fight.

Abingdon mum Lesley Fenwick bought sons Logan, four, and Owen, six, along for the day.

She said: "It is the second time we have been to the play park. My boys love it."

Play worker Fizzy Cox said: "The activities have been really popular and they are all completely free.

"We have a team of play workers here all the time for over seven's as well so they don't need to be here with a parent or guardian.

"For the water fight we also had a look online to find the hottest day this week to hold it on."

The playground in White House Road has also seen its zipwire replaced after the previous one wore out.

On September 4 the playground holds a family fun day, which will also see a return of the popular climbing wall.

The event will run from noon to 4pm.
