Members of the public are being advised that Oxfordshire County Council's website is currently not working.
Staff were alerted to the fault this morning and are currently working to get the website up and running again.
County council spokesman Paul Smith said: "Our website is down - we have only just found this out ourselves."
No estimate has been provided for how long it will take to fix the fault but Mr Smith said it was likely the website would be out of action for the rest of the day.
He added: "We hope the website will be up and running again tomorrow."
Mr Smith said there was no evidence the website had been hacked.
Parts of Oxford City Council website also appeared to be inaccessible this morning.
Staff tweeted that they are hoping the website will be back to normal tomorrow.
We expect our systems to be up and running by tomorrow morning. Apologies for any inconvenience. For more updates: https://t.co/M0b8p6Hqhg
