YOUNGSTERS at West Oxfordshire Academy of Performing Arts are no strangers to treading the boards to entertain the public.
They decided to put their talents to good use and put on an evening of entertainment to raise money for cancer awareness charity Coppafeel.
After raising £1,764 for the cause, Witney mayor Jeanette Baker, who thanked them for raising a total of £1,764 for her chosen cause.
Students from the academy’s Saturday theatre school, youth choir and adult singing group performed at the fundraising event.
Academy member Harry Phillips, 12, said: “We really enjoyed taking part in the performance and being able to raise money for this worthwhile charity.”
Coppafeel is dedicated to eradicating late detection of breast cancer and encourages people to check their breasts regularly.
It also raises awareness of symptoms of the disease.
West Oxfordshire Academy of Performing Arts, which put on the fundraiser in November, also runs a show choir school on Monday evenings in addition to its Saturday sessions.
