Manor Surgery in Headington, Oxford, will get £1.2m to extend its practice building to provide six new consultation rooms and two practice nurse rooms.

The Osler Road practice said it would like to offer space for an out-ofhours service and community-based specialist clinics. In a statement, partners in the practice said the expansion plans were developed in response to increasing pressure on their services.

They said: “The practice has seen a rapid increase in patients registered, with patient numbers rising by over 2,000 in the last two years.

“It is anticipated that this number will continue to grow due to planned housing developments in the area, in particular the Barton Park development.

“The current building was built in 1980 and is now in need of modernisation and expansion to meet the needs of the patients. If the project proceeds it is planned that a wider variety of community-based NHS services will become available.”

The practice is also planning to improve its car park, including providing more disabled spaces.
