DRESSED from head to toe in tinsel were angels from Carswell Primary School in Abingdon, who were just some of the children from reception and infants who put on the Christmas nativity at Trinity Church.

Headteacher Tina Farr said: “Our wonderful nativity saw the schoolchildren excel themselves.

“It was a performance filled with charm and passion. Songs and words were performed with gusto to the delight of the audience.”

Children from Years One and Two at St James CofE Primary School in Church Cowley, pictured above, performed to an audience in the grand dining hall at Balliol College in Oxford.
Headteacher Steve Dew said: “We thought the nativity went very well and it was the first year we did it at the Balliol College, which was nice for the children.
“I have had lots of good feedback from parents and the kids loved it as well.
“They have worked really hard on their lines since starting in November.”

Archie Stainthorpe at Hagbourne CofE Primary School

Years Two and Three from Hagbourne CofE Primary School opted for a slight twist to the traditional Christmas nativity by performing Hosanna Rock, adding an element of rock ‘n’ roll to the play.

Headteacher Annette Crewe said: “The staff and parents of Hagbourne C of E School are extremely proud of the children in Years Two and Three for their outstanding performance of Hosanna Rock.
“The children sang beautifully, the narrators read very clearly and everyone enjoyed the play immensely.”

The performance from the reception class at Aston and Cote CofE Primary School, picture taken by Elaine Tuffery LRPS LBIPP , started with a candle-lit procession through the village.

Holly the donkey led the group from the school to Aston Pottery, where the children performed.
Reception class teacher Mandy Thomason said: “It was amazing, a really lovely night and having the donkey included in the production gave it that extra Christmas feel. It was a magical start to the festive season and Holly behaved impeccably.”
