PROPOSALS to change some facilities at Kidlington and Gosford Leisure Centre will be considered next week.

Cherwell District Council leaders are to look at changing where some facilities are based at the Oxford Road centre.

This would convert an aerobics area into a “free weights and functional training area”.

The creche would be moved to a room overlooking the pool with new soft play equipment to make way for an aerobics area.

The Crazy Coliseum play area would be turned into a “dedicated spinning studio”, the council said.

The vending area would also be moved to reception.

A council report said the smaller creche “may lead to negative comment” but added it is of “sufficient size to accommodate current user levels”.

It said the addition of soft play equipment in the new creche will address “in part” the loss of the Crazy Coliseum.

The council’s executive will be asked to support the proposals subject to negotiations with Parkwood Community Leisure, which manages the centre on behalf of the council.

It will meet on Monday from 6.30pm at the council’s White Post Road, Bodicote, offices. The public can attend.
