IF the powers that be do pull the chimneys down (which are as much of the Oxfordshire skyline as the dreaming spires) couldn’t a few hundred bricks be spared.
They could then be sold for charity, say a £1 a brick?
Many people would like the chance to buy a piece of history, perhaps buy one for a relative who used to work there or someone who used to cuss at the chimneys when they put their washing out on a nice day? I was lucky – I got a brick from South Oxford School before it was turned into flats. I think selling for charity would work.
