NORTH Oxfordshire MP Sir Tony Baldry defended the county's A&E services after bosses were accused of a “news blackout” over waiting times over Christmas.
The Conservative spoke after shadow health secretary Andy Burnham hit out at the Government for suspending the publication of A&E waiting times.
But Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt said it would mean NHS staff working over the festive period and the Labour Government had not published over Christmas.
Sir Tony said hospital bosses were working very hard to make sure people at A&E get the right treatment and said: “Is this not simply a new form of political ambulance-chasing?”
