A HORSE was killed after it collided with a car near Steeple Aston yesterday.

Police said they were called to the scene of the incident on the A4260 shortly after 10.30pm.

Thames Valley Police spokeswoman Francine Rodrigues said officers who attended the scene found the horse was dead and another horse was loose nearby.

She said: “Officers worked with local farmers to secure the horse that was free in a field.

“The driver of the car was in shock but was not injured and was attended to by ambulance crews.

“The road was closed for a short period and reopened about an hour later after the loose horse had been secured and the road cleared.”
